Florida lands former Ohio State QB Jack Miller
Former Ohio State quarterback Jack Miller publicly announced that he has transferred to the University of Florida via Twitter on Tuesday afternoon, granting him four years of immediate eligibility.
Miller is officially Billy Napier’s first player to come through the transfer portal. Miller joins the Gators just about a week after Emory Jones announced that he will not be returning to Florida next season for his senior year.
The former four-star quarterback played in two season for the Buckeyes, completing 7-of-14 pass attempts for 101 total yards. Miller will now be competing with redshirt freshman Anthony Richardson, who has been sidelined due to a knee injury and will be sitting out for the Gasparilla Bowl game. This will give Miller a better chance at competing for the starting job come this spring.
With former Gator commit Nick Ewers decommitting and signing with Oklahoma, Millers’ opportunity to see playing time has gotten a lot greater, but yet will have to go against a flashy Anthony Richardson who finished the year with 529 yard and six touchdowns and rushing for 401 and three touchdowns.
